“The story of London’s most terrifying epidemic – and how it changed science, cities, and the modern world”

This book immerses the reader into  the history of the Cholera outbreak of London in 1854. Imagine yourself living near the River Thames in a cramped neighborhood, with no indoor plumbing. Your only choice for disposing of human waste is a cesspool just a few steps from your front door. The smells of human excrement, and death float on the breeze and across your nose. I enjoyed the book, but found it to be a bit dry and repetitive.
