My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Brain on Fire, is an absolutely incredible story!

This book blew my mind! I don’t know if it’s because of the story, or the fact that my brain is having to process this information as I read about someone else’s brain…but I couldn’t get this story out of my head. Brain on Fire is a gripping true-story about a woman who over time goes “mad”, and ends up hospitalized due to her symptoms, subject to a battery of tests, imaging, and even a brain biopsy! Susannah’s story is fascinating, a true page turner that sticks with you after you are finished reading.

Susannah writes about her experiences through interviewing those who supported her while she went through her ordeal. I was sucked in by the details of her story, I could get a full mental picture of her whole situation. I eventually had to stop reading her book before I went to bed, because I’d dream about her situation. But, I loved the book. It’s informative, engaging, and a really powerful read. I highly recommend this book, if you’re interested in medical history, medicine in general, or are a medical professional yourself.  You are guaranteed to learn something while reading Brain on Fire! The audiobook is wonderfully narrated by Susannah.
