The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

The Immortal life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Audiobook: 5 Stars

This is an amazing, heartwarming, and heart wrenching story of Henrietta Lacks and the cells that were swabbed from various parts of her body. These cells were taken without her permission, replicated, shared, and sold. Her family received no compensation ever.
Yet her cells were used in research of cancers, radiation, AIDS, and were involved in the creation of the Polio vaccine.
I wonder. If Mrs. Lacks had known what would have been possible with cells from her body, would she have consented to her cells being grown in labs, and used for research?
